We do not place engineers in your team under your direction. Every engagement is a consulting or development mandate with agreed objectives and deliverables, and Stacktrace is responsible for how the work is done and for its quality.

Our engineers work remotely and from our office in Lugano. We come to you when being in the same room makes the difference: the kick-off, understanding a system for the first time, architecture workshops, difficult decisions, demos and handover. In Ticino that is easy to arrange; elsewhere in Switzerland we come when it adds value, and clients across Europe, the UK and the USA are served remotely.

We work in Italian and English, the working language of most engineering teams in Switzerland and of international companies. Documentation and code are written in English unless your team prefers otherwise.

We sign confidentiality agreements as a matter of course, work with the least access needed for the task, use your accounts and environments rather than copies of your data, and follow your security policies. By default, the code, documentation and intellectual property created for you belong to you; the details are agreed in the contract.

We work on day rates or on a fixed price for well-defined scopes such as assessments. We do not publish prices, because the right scope depends on the system and the goal; after a first conversation you receive a written proposal with the approach, the engagement model and an indicative effort. We do not promise outcomes we cannot control, and we tell you early if an estimate changes.

Stacktrace is a small practice and takes on a limited number of engagements at the same time. If we cannot start when you need us, we tell you, and when possible we suggest an alternative.
